The daily STEW (Star-Telegram Editorial Writers): Fort Worth City Council members are considering making twice-a-week landscape watering restrictions permanent rather than just a temporary reaction to drought. This is not the first time we’ve had this discussion. Are you OK with it? Has your position changed since the last time this came up?

Have been conserving water for years in our garden. Now trying to figure out how to reuse bath water, dishwasher water, etc. for irrigation in the yard. Katie Sherrod

It makes sense to make the watering restrictions permanent. I rarely water my lawn and the only time my grass isn’t green is during the dry period when we are under watering restrictions anyway. Timothy Fish

Water conservation is so important. The drought here in Wichita Falls is reaching catastrophic levels. Our water is disgusting. Rachel Engel

Bishop T.D. Jakes has the largest water bill in Fort Worth, let’s ask him his thoughts. Laura Wilkerson Johnson

Unless TD Jakes walks on water, what does he have to do with the subject at hand? Carol Eicher

Two times a week is fine with me. I don’t have the underground watering system and since I’m getting old and my back hurts I can’t get out there like I used to do. Willa Moore

In no way should a response to a temporary situation become permanent. Excessive water use and drought are not the problem. The problem is poor planning. David Hallum
