As a former educator may I ask: How many times have you seen anyone use algebra? Why can't first aid and/or some vocational course be substituted for algebra? First aid can save lives, can it not? Never heard of algebra saving a life.
I've been around for 76 years and have never seen algebra used.

Richland Hills continues to welcome new businesses, the latest being Buyers Barricades. Their large attractive building and landscaped grounds are a great asset to our city. With their use of an exterior of Austin Stone, they are continuing a similar look in newer buildings already established in this way, creating a more unified “town square” effect.
Baker Boulevard (Highway 10) is the city’s main street, and the use of a common, but different, look in our businesses makes the city stand out in a positive way. However, the city needs a rule that prohibits a business on Baker Boulevard from painting a building in any garish color.
Ours is a desirable small city in which to raise a family or to retire. It is a safe area for walking and biking; has many large lots, some containing horses. We have our own station for the Trinity Railway Express. People from other cities drive here to commute to their jobs. More businesses are locating on Baker Boulevard, with others on Handley-Ederville Road. In minutes, residents can drive to shopping, recreation, doctors’ offices and hospitals and still reside in a rural-like setting.

Candidate for DA
There is only one viable candidate running for Tarrant County district attorney, and that is Sharen Wilson.
Last year, my daughter Jade Jiles was killed by a drunk driver, leaving behind a 6-month-old son and two young brothers. My family had never been involved in the criminal justice system up until that point, and everything was moving with record speed.
A few months later, we were told to be in court for a probation revocation hearing at 8:30 a.m. We were the forgotten victims, sitting in the victims’ assistance lounge while the assigned judge filmed a diversion program. The state offered 12 years, and we really didn’t know what to do.
Sharen Wilson gathered all of us together and led us in prayer. She was so compassionate and caring. She never left our side. During this time she was not a judge, but a friend to a family in pain.
— Yolanda and Rick Carson,
Teachers in general have been good about voting to throw a rascal out of office, but not so good about voting to reward a friend. Let’s change that by showing up to vote in the Republican primary for Diane Patrick, state representative District 94.
Being a retired teacher myself, I can say without reservation that there is no better friend to retired teachers than Diane, and judging from the awards she has won, there is no better friend to the business community, either. Because of Diane’s and other legislators’ support, the Texas Teacher Retirement Fund is actuarially sound for the first time in many years, and teachers who have been retired at least 15 years received a cost-of-living raise for the first time since 2001.
Please join me in supporting our friend Diane Patrick in the Republican primary.

Richard Greene's critics have implied he has manipulated the facts concerning the Wendy Davis biography to further his conservative opinions. The admitted fudging by Davis is understandable. However, if true, the circumstances of her education bear scrutiny.
If indeed her husband paid for the TCU and Harvard education, necessitating the use of his 401(k) — only to be served divorce papers upon graduation from the latter — brings into focus the depth of her character.
