The daily STEW (Star-Telegram Editorial Writers): As local governments tally up what they spent to battle the North Texas ice storm in early December (Fort Worth, $948,000; Arlington, up to $250,000; Tarrant County, $145,000), they're looking at whether they qualify for federal aid to reimburse part of the uninsured loss. Are these reimbursements a good way to spend federal tax dollars?
Every part of the country has some form of weather that they have to do some form of cleanup for. Why should we expect people in other parts of the country to pay for our cleanup? Timothy Fish
