A wheelchair-bound man died in an early morning Euless apartment fire, fire officials said.
The fire occurred about 1:45 a.m. Friday at The Terrace Apartments at 306 Park Drive.
Euless Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Morris said the fire apparently started in a downstairs apartment and spread to an adjoining apartment.
He said responding firefighters tried to enter one of the burning apartments to rescue a man in a wheelchair reportedly trapped inside but “it was heavy, heavy fire.”

The man’s body was later found inside the living room of one of the apartments after the fire was extinguished, Morris said.
The man had not been positively identified as of Friday afternoon.
Another resident at the complex was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.
Morris said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
