An 80-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound as she slept in a home Tuesday night in what police described as a drive-by shooting.
No one had been arrested as of Wednesday morning.
The woman, whom police did not identify, was treated at a local hospital Tuesday night for a gunshot wound to her arm and was back at home hours later, according to family members. Four other people, including an adult granddaughter and three great-grandchildren, ages 12, 9 and 1, were in the home at the time, Fort Worth police said.
The shooting call came into police about 10:25 p.m. Tuesday in the 5500 block of Patton Drive.
Officers learned that a gunman or gunmen fired multiple times into the residence on Patton Drive, wounding the woman, who was asleep in a front bedroom, Fort Worth police Capt. Scott Conn said in an email Wednesday.
No other injuries were reported.
Police said they did not know what prompted the shooting.
