A man is in John Peter Smith Hospital after being shot shortly after midnight in an Arlington mobile home park, police said.
“The victim is expected to survive his injuries,” said Tiara Ellis Richard, an Arlington police spokeswoman.
The victim and a woman had just pulled up to a residence in the 3200 block of West Division Street when a man got out of another vehicle and shot him, Richard said.
“As is usually the case, this is not a stranger deal,” she said. “The person officers are looking for is known to the victim.”

Investigators believe they have identified a suspect from witness statements, but an arrest has not been made, Richard said.
Robbery appears not to be the suspect’s motive, Ellis Richard said.
“Since the victim and suspected shooter apparently knew one another, there is a history there,” she said. “But I would not go into the details of that until we get a suspect in custody. It’s just a bit too soon.”
No other injuries were reported.
