Arlington police seek driver who fled after hitting elderly man

A 73-year-old man who was struck by a vehicle Saturday while walking on a sidewalk in Arlington continues to improve in a local hospital, an official said.

Officials identified the man as Terry Pinkston of Arlington who was listed in fair condition Monday at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.

Arlington police Lt. Christopher Cook said investigators are following several tips. They continue to look for a mid-90s to early-2000s model, indigo-blue or dark-blue Chevrolet Cavalier coupe that may have damage to the right side of the hood and windshield area.

“Investigators continue to look into these leads but we do not have the suspect or car in custody at this time,” Cook said.

The incident occurred about 7:30 a.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of Ascension Boulevard in north Arlington.

Police said the victim was walking on a sidewalk on the west side of the street and the car was southbound on Ascension Boulevard when it hit him.
