The water’s back on in Bridgeport, but residents were cautioned to boil before drinking, cooking with or making ice from tap water until further notice.
A second repair to a 14-inch main was finished about 5 a.m. Saturday, but city spokeswoman Amber Fogelman asked residents to go easy with their taps.
“Please conserve water today,” Fogelman said. “Showering and bathing are fine but please do not do laundry, run the dishwasher or any other activities that use large volumes of water until the water has time to get through the lines and the towers have had time to begin filling.”
The water main broke Thursday at a 90-degree elbow and was repaired, but sprang a leak at the same spot Friday, Fogelman said.
