One person was killed Wednesday afternoon and another was seriously injured in an accident on a road just west of Alliance Airport, authorities said.
The person who was killed was declared dead at the scene; the seriously injured individual was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital. A third person was treated at the scene, authorities said.
The names of the people involved in the wreck were unavailable Wednesday evening.
The wreck was reported shortly before 1:30 p.m. in the 14400 block of John Day Road.

“Officers made the scene to find that the victim was in the roadway performing an inspection at a manhole,” said Daniel Segura, a police spokesman. “He was out of his truck.”
Segura also noted, “There were no cones or other warning devices in the immediate area.”
Another vehicle northbound on John Day Road struck the worker, then hit the truck he had vacated, Segura said.
It was unclear Wednesday why the victim was inspecting the manhole, although Segura said he was not a city employee.
“As of now, [we] don’t know why he was inspecting the manhole,” Segura said.
It also was unclear if the driver of the other vehicle was the one taken to the hospital or if he was treated at the scene.
