A woman with dementia and high blood pressure reported missing Thursday in Haltom City has been found safe.
Helen Rivers, 83, was located about 11:48 p.m. Thursday in her car in Haltom City.
“She had apparently become lost and had been driving around trying to get back home,” Cpl. Joe Hackfeld, a police spokesman, said in a news released issued Friday morning.
Hackfed said Rivers appeared disoriented but was in good physical condition.
Rivers’ daughter had reported her mother missing Thursday afternoon. She told police that Rivers had left the Haltom Senior Center on Bernice Street about 1 p.m. and planned to stop at the Kroger store on U.S. 377. Groceries in the house indicated she may have come home before disappearing.
Although there were no signs of foul play in the house, a Silver Alert was issued for Rivers because she “suffers from dementia and high blood pressure, and she is on several medications,” Hackfeld said.
