•The Burning Room,
by Michael Connelly (Little, Brown and Co., $28) — LAPD Detective Harry Bosch is back for the 19th installment in the bestselling series and, this time, he’s got a new partner — rookie Detective Lucia Soto. The duo is working on a very different cold case — mariachi Orlando Merced was shot by a stray bullet a decade ago, paralyzed, and now has died from his injuries. There’s also another case linked to the shooting. Further complicating matters, Lucia has some secrets of her own.
