This is the month when everyone’s trying to find some new way to scare themselves -- and everyone around them. With that in mind, here’s our list of Halloween-themed attractions across North Texas. Happy hauntin

Tarrant County

Brick-or-Treat LEGOLAND Discovery Center, 3000 Grapevine Mills Parkway. 877-818-1677. 10am-8pm Fri. $21, free ages 2 & under. Includes Haunted Town Big Build (noon-5pm); Pumpkin Trail; SCARE-venger hunt in Miniland; and Costume Contests for the kids.

Fright Fest Six Flags Over Texas, Arlington. 817-530-6000. Fri-Sun. Fright Pass, unlimited admittance to the five haunted attractions only: $20. GA at the park with Fright Fest: $64.99; under 48 inches $49.99; 2 & under free. Roller coasters and haunted-house scares.

Fright Night at the AMA Fri. Arlington Museum of Art, 201 W. Main St. 817-275-4600. Free trick-or-treating for kids, and inexpensive games and activities, 6-9pm. For ages 21 and up, Halloween party and midnight movie, 9pm-2am. Cover charge; come in costume for a discount.

Gexa Halloween Party: Slipknot, Korn, King 810 Fri. Gexa Energy Pavilion, Dallas. Family-friendly night of music, with east plaza gates open early for trick-or-treating. Kids under 12 get in free with paid adult. 214-421-1111; Live Nation.

Hangman’s House Of Horrors 4400 Blue Mound Road, Fort Worth. New ownership and location. 7:30 pm-midnight Fri & Sat. Tour includes three attractions. Plus, 19-acre property features live bands, food trucks, free photos, festival activities, novelties and more.

Moxley Manor 510 Harwood Road, Bedford. 7:30pm-midnight Fri & Sat. Rain or shine; indoor attraction. $17; $25 Fast Pass. Credit cards accepted. Free paved parking.

Night at the Museum Sleepover With the Dinosaurs Science Spooktacular! Fri. Perot Museum, Dallas. After-hours access to exhibits, exclusive demonstrations and hands-on discovery, with a late-night snack, 3-D film and light breakfast. Designed for ages 6-12. $45 per child, $30 per adult chaperone.

Trick or Tours Halloween Globe Life Ballpark, 1000 Ballpark Way, Arlington. 817-273-5099. 3 & 5pm Fri, 11am and 1, 3 & 5pm Sat. Tour through the Ballpark, plus crafts, stories, games and treats. Dia de los Muertos 7-10pm Sat. Rose Marine Theater, 1440 N. Main St., Fort Worth. Free outdoor event to honor Day of the Dead with folkloric music, dance, pan de muerto, ofrendas, and a drum procession from Marine Park to the Rose Marine Plaza. Art and food vendors, face painting. Artes de la Rosa will sell candles and T-shirts.

Denton County

Dan’s Haunted House 501 E. Swisher Road, Lake Dallas. 972-821-9154. 8-11pm Fri & Sat. Journey into Japanese culture and folklore. “Ancient Fear Rising” theme with samurai, spirits, ghosts and demons. $17; $2 parking. Coupon online. Anyone named “Dan” or variation (Danny, Daniel, Danielle) gets in free with ID.

The Dark Path Haunt 2695 Old Alton Road, Denton. 8pm-midnight Fri-Sun. $20; Final Fight Laser Tag zombie Shoot $5; Old Alton Halloween $5. 6-acre outdoor haunt with a path that takes you through the frightening forest area behind the Swisher Courts facility along Lake Dallas.

The Strangling Brothers Haunted Circus: “The Scariest Haunt on Earth” 3880 Irving Mall, Irving. 214-724-2488. 7:30pm-midnight Fri & Sat, 7:30-10:30pm Sun. $32.48; $54.13 VIP Fast Pass, includes taxes. Free on-site parking. Abandoned circus maze and 32 rings of terror featured in the hourlong haunted circus. Suggested not for those scared of clowns.

Ellis & Kaufman counties

Chaos Crew Presents the Doors Haunted House and the Dark Carnival 7829 E Farm Road 917, Alvarado. 7pm-midnight Fri & Sat. $17 The Doors, $7 Dark Carnival; combo ticket $22. Cash and credit cards accepted. Bring a canned food item for a local food bank and get $2 off Combo or Doors ticket. Panic’s Playground, featuring games, face painting and more, has no cover charge. The Doors Haunted House is an all new walk-through haunted attraction. The Dark Carnival is a walk-through carnival in the spirit of the freak shows of the past.

Tayman Graveyard Haunted Theme Park 4721 Cecillia St., Midlothian. 7:30pm-1am Fri & Sat; 7:30-11pm Sun (special Blackout Night). $27 (includes taxes and fees, plus free parking and all five attractions); $22 kids under 48 inches tall. Revamped from the old Addamsville Terror Complex, park features an abandoned gold mine with dark tunnels and mazelike features.
