Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s 2014-15 season will celebrate Miguel Harth-Bedoya’s 15 years as music director

The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra’s 2014-15 season will celebrate Miguel Harth-Bedoya’s 15 years as music director, the orchestra said last week.

Each program will include one of his favorite masterworks, and the orchestra will perform 15 compositions it has not performed at Bass Hall for 15 years.

Guest artists in the Pops series will include Broadway star Megan Hilty and saxophonist Kenny G.

Among the pianists in the Symphonic Series are 2013 Cliburn gold medalist Vadym Kholodenko, Barry Douglas and Lang-Lang, who will play Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 at the 2015 gala in February. Other soloists will be violinists Simone Porter and Stefan Jackiw, guitarist Pable Sainz Villegas and cellist Adolfo Gutierrez Arenas.

And the Specials series will include country singer Sara Evans and the Von Trapp Family Christmas.

The annual Great Performances Festival in August will showcase the works of Brahms and Dvorak.
