The percentage of delinquent mortgages declines in Fort Worth-Arlington

The Fort Worth-Arlington mortgage delinquency rate, reflecting loans that are 90 days or more late, inched closer to 3 percent in September, according to the latest figures from CoreLogic.

The September rate was 3.62 percent, compared with 4.13 percent in September 2013, CoreLogic said.

In Texas, the delinquency rate was 3.11 percent, down from 3.54 percent a year ago. In the U.S., the rate was 4.22 percent, down from 5.24 percent in September 2013.

The foreclosure rate for the area, which includes Tarrant, Parker, Wise, Hood, Somervell and Johnson counties, was 0.80 percent, down from 1.1 percent a year earlier, CoreLogic said.

The foreclosure rate measures the percentage of loans in some stage of foreclosure. The area’s foreclosure rate fell below 1 percent in January.
