Fort Worth area religion calendar

▪ 20th anniversary of Pastor Kenneth Jones, Jr. and family, Sunday, Como First Missionary Baptist Church, 5228 Goodman Ave., Fort Worth. Guest speakers: 10:45 a.m., Rev. Ralph Taylor, Long Island, N.Y.; 4 p.m., Rev. R.W. Emerson, Jr., Rising Star Baptist Church, Fort Worth.

▪ Hope for the Holidays service, 7 p.m., Thursday, Arborlawn United Methodist Church, 5001 Briarhaven Road, Fort Worth. The interdenominational service is free and “offers comfort, inspiration for people grieving during the holidays,” according to a news release. The service will include a ballet performance of Silent Night and those attending are invited to place a token of a lost loved one on the altar at the church.

▪ Kirk Franklin concert, 8 p.m., Nov. 18, Mansfield ISD Center for the Performing Arts, 1110 W. Debbie Lane. Ten-time Grammy winner Kirk Franklin will perform. Select choir students and the All-District High School Gospel Choir will open the show. Tickets can be purchased from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Center for the Performing Arts.

▪ Thanksgiving Dinner, noon, Nov. 20, Central Christian Church, 3205 Hamilton Ave., Fort Worth. Church will provide turkey and gravy; others are asked to bring side dishes and desserts.
