Whether blue or red, left or right, many voters can agree that a stiff drink may be in order to make it through the 2016 U.S. presidential election Nov. 8. Whiskey & Rye, inside the Omni Fort Worth Hotel, is ready to help with a lineup of election-themed libations, including cocktails named for the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates. The red-hued Trump-tini is sweetened with cranberry juice and topped with a splash of champagne. The margarita-inspired Hilla-rita is made with 100 percent blue agave tequila. Patrons can peruse the bar’s “Polling for Cocktails” menu to also find a blackberry-infused POTUS Punch, The Right Manhattan made with apricot preserves and a True Blue Mule made with blueberry-infused syrup. Try these recipes at home for an Election Day watch party. Raise a glass for a celebratory toast, or to take the sting out of your disappointment.
