Some fast-food restaurants try to suggest they’ve got healthy options on their menu. Fat Shack is not such a place.

The name is a dead giveaway, but so are the sandwiches with names like Fat Slob, Fat Cow and Fat Chance.

Fat Shack, a college-town hangout that started in New Jersey and expanded to Colorado, will be opening its first Texas location later this month near the University of North Texas campus, according to the Denton Record Chronicle.

The Shack’s fat sammies are filled with fried goodies -- everying from chicken fingers to fries to mozzarella sticks. And many are combined with Fat Shack’s signature gooey cheesesteak. The menu also includes wings, burgers and milkshakes, plus deep-fried Oreos and Deep Fried Twinkies. So it sounds like Fat Shack will fit right in here, and you won’t have to wait until the Texas State Fair to clog your arteries with those delicacies.

The Record Chroncile reports that Fat Shack’s opening date is set for April 26 in a strip center on Elm Street, near Bet the House Barbecue. And it’ll be opened till 3 a.m on Fridays and Saturdays, and 1 a.m. the rest of the week.

Because nothing tastes better than deep-fried funnel cake bites (6 for $3.99) after midnight!
