Like so many women, I resolve each year to be healthier.

Actually, the resolution is more like: Can I lose 20 pounds and still eat this bag of potato chips? (Answer: No).

It's always good to get a reality check on life. That's why Baylor Health's For Women, For Life is essential for any women who plans on starting a new workout or eating regiment.

FWFL offers free health screenings to participants as well as informational booths and health presentations by physicians and other health professionals. A few years ago, I attended the event and found a plethora of information. I also decided to switch fertility doctors after one of the programs at Baylor All Saints Medical Center at Fort Worth. Some of the events even offer a light breakfast, chair massages and fitness demos.

Best of all, it's free! However, you must register in advance so don't wait. Get your girlfriends together and create a plan, not a resolution, to get healthy this year. See you there!
