5 reasons to see ‘Cinderella’ at Bass Hall

The ‘Cinderella’ musical is coming to a performance hall near you. Here’s why your family shouldn’t miss a beat of this modern-day version of a classic fairy tale.

1. The songs

Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella” musical was initially written for television with Julie Andrews in the title role. The stage productions features all of the wonderful songs including “In My Own Little Corner” and “Ten Minutes Ago.” The show also features an incredible orchestra.

2. The ballgowns

Little ones love to play dress up and grown-ups go ga-ga over gorgeous gowns.

3. The story

The Broadway stage production offers surprising new twists to the Cinderella story without losing all of the beloved elements of the fairy tale.

4. The message

In the show, Ella is berated by her stepmother and stepsisters for not cleaning fast enough or not being good enough. Let's face it...this is bullying. The musical can be a good talking point for parents to engage children about bullying. Ask them: "How does Ella fight for her dreams in the face of being bullied?

5. The setting

Bass Hall is the perfect setting for this lush production. Formal attire is optional, but there's nothing wrong with dressing like princesses or princes.
