The Taste of Northeast festival is Thursday in Hurst.
And no, it doesn't include bagels, coneys or any food from the real Northeast.
For 12 years, Arts Council Northeast has counted on hungry suburban arts patrons -- and restaurant diners from all over -- to fill the Hurst Conference Center for the annual charity event.
This year's menu will include pork ribs from Texas Roadhouse, rustic pasta from Italianni's and cheese-stuffed mushrooms from Chef Point Cafe.

The menu also includes offerings from FnG Eats in Keller, Rockfish Seafood Grill, Texas Land & Cattle, Weinberger's Deli and Wildwood Grill.

The new Love Shack at the Oui is chef Tim Love's debut on the south side.
But it also brings back a familiar flavor.
With bacon added, the Shack's Love Burger is vaguely reminiscent of the Bakon-Burgers made famous at Carlson's Drive Inn and served later as a tribute burger at now-gone Jon's Grille.
The Bakon-Burger was Fort Worth's burger of 1950s and '60s memories. It was complicated: The beef was marinated for days, then grilled and topped with lettuce, cheese, three strips of thick bacon and a Thousand Island-like sauce.
The Love Burger isn't marinated. But the beef tastes similar, and the combination of cheese, wild-boar bacon and "Love sauce" delivers Carlson-esque flavor, although on a smaller bun.
Otherwise, the Love Shack at the Oui is the same simple burger take-out counter as the north-side location. (Diners hoping for the stylish Trinity Park atmosphere will be disappointed; it's basically a burger counter with a bar and a few tables.)

La Piazza celebrates a year in its new location Wednesday night with a guest chef -- owner Vito Ciraci's sister Anna Maria -- and Fort Worth Opera singers.
