A 3-year-old child died Monday in a wreck involving an oil truck that lost its drive shaft while traveling west on Loop 820 and stalled in the middle of the freeway.
A woman was traveling with the 3-year-old girl in her sedan about 7:30 a.m. and struck the oil truck, police said.
Police said the wreck closed the westbound lanes of the freeway near the Hemphill exit for hours.
