St. Patrick's Day kids triathlon

When: 8 a.m. March 10 (register online by Tuesday)

What it is: Triathlon for kids age 4-13; distances for swim, bike and run vary by age

Where: Keller Natatorium, 1000 Bear Creek Parkway, Keller

Beauty and the Beast bike tour

When: March 24, registration opens at 6:30 a.m.; tour starts at 9 a.m.

What it is: Choose a routes with the following mileage: 13, 24, 34, 46, 53 or 67 miles. All roads include rolling hills and the "Beast," which organizers describe as a "steep, long climb near the end of the ride." Sag wagon support; free T-shirts to first 600 riders

Where: Tyler. Start is at K.E.'s Bushman Entertainment Center, Bullard (intersection of U.S. 69 and Farm Road 2493)

How much: Preregister by March 17 for $30; after that, it's $35

The Lone Star 5K/10K

When: March 31, 8:30 a.m. (registration opens at 7:30 a.m.)

What it is: 5K and 10K, plus after party with entertainment, food, prizes. Open to wheelchair athletes. This is a fundraiser for Ability Connection Texas, which offers services and support for adults and children with disabilities.

Where: Lot A, Texas Rangers Ballpark, Arlington

How much: 5K: $25 through noon March 23, $30 afterward. 10K: $30 through noon March 23, then $35
