Tyler beautician accused of administering illegal breast injections

TYLER -- A beautician is in jail, accused of administering breast augmentation injections, officials said Thursday.

One customer was hospitalized in critical condition with chest pain after receiving injections from Carmel Mitchelle Foster-Alexander at her Queen Divas Hair Salon and Spa in Tyler, authorities said.

Foster was arrested about 1 p.m. Thursday after a tip led Harrison County sheriff's deputies to a rural house north of Marshall. She was booked into the Harrison County Jail in Marshall and is awaiting return to Smith County. Bail was set at $200,000.

Foster is charged with two counts of practicing medicine without a license. A police spokesman said that other injection recipients have come forward and that more charges are possible.

Jail records list no attorney for Foster.
