Friday will be the last opportunity to experience the family-friendly Summer Stampede at Texas Motor Speedway. It's Fan Appreciation Night at the speedway, and the racing action includes Bandolero cars (a mix between a car and kart designed for drivers as young as 8 years old), the Lone Star Legends (replicas of American automobiles from the '30s and '40s, powered by Yamaha motorcycle engines) and the Limited Modified Series (dirt-track cars that will run on the speedway's 1/4-mile track). Gates open at 6:30 p.m.; racing begins at 8 p.m. There's free parking at Gate 4, and coolers are allowed. Season ticket holders can get a 2-for-1 deal on adult admission.
