First, choose leggings in a dark, solid color, which will make your legs look less chunky. Bright, patterned leggings are best left to skinny, supermodel legs.

Next, add shoes or boots, ideally with a 2- to 3-inch heel, in the same dark shade as the leggings -- another trick for making legs appear a little longer and slimmer.
Finally, and most importantly, team your leggings with a long, loose, tunic-style top to cover your hips, thighs and derriere.
