Police: Don't walk signal was flashing when woman was hit by bus in Fort Worth

Police have determined that a woman who was struck by a bus and killed in downtown Fort Worth this summer stepped into the intersection while the don't walk signal was flashing, a final police report showed.

Judith Peterson, 61, Haltom City, was crossing Houston Street while the bus, being driven by Leshawn Vaughn, 42, was westbound on 6th Street turning left to go south on Houston, the report said.

The bus struck Peterson and came to a stop in the right lane of Houston Street. Peterson went under the bus and died at the scene of the collision, the report said.
