"Summer is ending and soon our glowing tans will fade, too. A bright red lip will perk up a pale complexion and add some fire to any outfit," Crist says.
2. Powerful purples
"Violet, plum and eggplant are only a few of the purple hues that have taken over the makeup trends for fall 2010," she says. "From eyes to lips and nails, use any color from the purple spectrum to get a bold, notice-me look."
3. Tough girl-chic nails
"Say goodbye to gray and beige and hello to dramatic, textured nails," she says. "This fall, channel [your] inner rock star with jewel-tone shades, heavy metals and glitter-infused polish."
3. Matte skin and face
"A glow isn't the only way to go," Crist says. "This fall, get a fresh face with matte primers, bronzers and lip colors."
4. Bold brows
"Strong, sculptural brows are back, both on and off the runway," Crist says. "Make a lasting impression this fall with daring eyebrows that are sure to get noticed."
5. Smoky grunge eyes
"This fall we'll see a return of smoky, sultry eyes, bringing in a new era of 'modern grunge,'" she says.
"From fishtails to headgear, to channeling the '60s pinup beehive, there are so many options for new styles to flaunt this fall," Crist says. "Don't be afraid to take risks. Go for an off-center part, throw on a knit headband, and take it to the streets."
