FORT WORTH — More than 12,000 students who have pre-registered and whose families have vouchers in hand will receive backpacks filled with school supplies on Thursday during the Tarrant County Back-to-School Roundup at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth.
Organizers increased the number of school supply packets by 50 percent, from 8,000 in 2009 to 12,000 in 2010.
The pre-registration events were well-attended, resulting in all 12,000 packets being reserved in advance.
To gain entrance to the Roundup, families must present a copy of the voucher they received at pre-registration.
