Fredericksburg will bring its German heritage to life once again in the Texas Hill Country with the Night in Old Fredericksburg celebration July 16-17. The festival, in its 47th year, showcases the town's history, culture and food with events that include live music, exhibitions of pioneer crafts and activities, arts-and-craft vendors and a host of food offerings such as sauerkraut and sausage, turkey legs, tacos, burgers and other favorites. True to the town's German heritage, there also is plenty of beer on tap. And there are plenty of activities for kids, too, including a bungee jump, Ferris wheel, slide and games. The events take place on Marktplatz, the market square in the heart of Fredericksburg's historic and commercial district. Activities will run 6 p.m.-midnight Friday, 11:30 a.m.-midnight Saturday. Admission is $6 each day, or $10 for a two-day pass. Children 12 and under get in for $1. Parking is free. 866-839-3378 (TEX-FEST) or
