4-year-old Arlington boy found in hot tub, rushed to hospital

A 4-year-old Arlington boy was injured Sunday afternoon when he was discovered after falling into the family’s hot tub, police said Monday.

The boy was with his older brothers at his south Arlington home when he apparently fell into a whirlpool hot tub that is adjacent to the pool, said Tiara Ellis Richard, a police spokeswoman.

The boy’s father performed CPR on the child before the boy was taken by ambulance to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth.

It is unclear how long the child had been under water. The child’s name has not been released.

Emergency personnel responded at about 4 p.m. to the family’s home in the 300 block of Westbrook Drive.

The boy's condition was unknown late Monday morning.

“This is an unfortunate accident, but it’s also an opportunity to remind the public about pool safety,” Richard said. “It doesn’t’ take very long to go under water. As it gets warmer, we’re asking residents to take extra precaution when you go to the pool.”
