Head to the Fort Worth Boat Show, then head to the lake

With another Texas summer approaching, thoughts of escaping the heat can't be far behind.

Dozens of boats, many at special prices, are on display at the 55th annual Fort Worth Boat Show this weekend at the Fort Worth Convention Center, 1201 Houston St. Hours are noon to 8 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The show was previously held in January but was rescheduled to be closer to the start of the boating season.

Entertainment is provided by Danny Conner's Reptile Adventures, featuring snakes, lizards, turtles and crocodilians. Children's activities include rock climbing, bounce houses and games.

Admission, which includes in-and-out privileges for the entire show, is $8 for adults and $4 for kids 5-11. Discount coupons are available at www.fwboatshow.com.
