Reserve your rebate for energy-efficient appliances today

A $23.3 million state program offering consumers hundreds of dollars in rebates on qualifying, energy-efficient appliances started at 7 a.m. today.

Here's what you need to know:

Rebates range from $75 for a room air conditioner to $150 or more for a clothes washer to as much as $1,600 for a heat pump. You don't have to know exactly which appliance you plan to buy, but you must reserve a rebate -- the sooner the better, since demand is expected to be high. The limit is two different appliances per household. Purchases can be made starting April 16.

Reservations can be made online or by telephone. Go to or call 877-780-3039 to make a reservation or get more details.
