FORT WORTH – Police found a 12-year-old boy with his biological father today after he disappeared Monday night during a track meet at Farrington Field.
Francisco Gomez, a William James Middle School student, had apparently become upset because he had forgotten to register for the shot put and was therefore not allowed to compete in the event.
Sgt. Pedro Criado, police spokesman, said students had seen the boy in the grandstands and near the concession stands at the stadium at East Lancaster Avenue and North University Drive.
Gomez did not, however, board the bus when the track meet ended at 9:30 p.m., Criado said.

School district officials say team and school staff assumed Francisco had left the track meet with a family member.
When it was determined that was not the case, police were called and a search was immediately started at the stadium and Lancaster Avenue.
