To put it the way dramatic-pause-loving host Ryan Seacrest might put it, both North Texans on American Idol ... remain on American Idol.
But for the second week in a row, it looked pretty hairy for Tim Urban of Duncanville, who wound up in the bottom three again -- and then in the bottom two. Seacrest did leave Casey James of Fort Worth hanging for a second during Wednesday's results show but then announced that he was safe.
In the end, Paige Miles of Naples, Fla., was eliminated.
Urban, who performed Queen's Crazy Little Thing Called Love on Tuesday's show, took heat from the judges because of an atypically flamboyant performance in which he slid across the stage and jumped into the audience. Asked by Seacrest whether he would have done things differently had he known the judges would react so harshly, Urban said he wouldn't have changed a thing, because he had too much fun.

Also in the bottom three was Katie Stevens of Middlebury, Conn. Stevens' presence was a mild surprise because, while her performance of Fergie's Big Girls Don't Cry didn't blow anyone away, it still received mostly positive comments from the judges. But Miles' terrible rendition of Phil Collins' Against All Odds, which judge Kara DioGuardi said might have been the worst vocal all season, made her a sure bet for the bottom three.
Because Urban and James have made it to next week, they will be part of the next American Idol tour, which features the season's top 10 vote-getters. American Idol next airs at 7 p.m. Tuesday on KDFW/Channel 4.
