North Texas faces a possible round of showers Friday, but the actual precipitation could fall well to the east of the Metroplex, according to the National Weather Service.
A trough of low pressure over southern Colorado Thursday morning was headed south, which could spark rainfall in North Texas, if sufficient moisture is already in place.
But the availability of moist air is a moving target, said Matt Mosier, meteorologist with the weather service office in Fort Worth.
Earlier Thursday, the forecast called for a 20 percent chance for showers Thursday evening, and 30 percent on Friday.

The weather service increased the rain chances to 50 Friday morning, but Jessica Schultz, another weather service meteorologist, said any showers that happen in Tarrant County will be very light.
Southerly winds were returning to the region Thursday, which normally pulls up moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. The latest soundings on the coast, however, indicated that very little moisture was headed toward Fort Worth and Dallas, Mosier said.
"Obviously there's moisture there because of the gulf," Mosier said, "but it's not that impressive."
Moisture, however, did appear to be in the forecast farther east.
Snow is in the forecast on Friday for much of Oklahoma and rain changing to snow slated for Northeast Texas. Paris has a 60 percent chance for precipitation Friday, the weather service said.
"We definitely think there is some possibility for showers, but the bulk of the moisture ends up east of us," Mosier said. "That's why we see only a 20-30 percent chance for rain" for North Texas.
The rest of Thursday is expected to be partly sunny with a high around 58 degrees. Friday will be mostly cloudy and about 45.
Saturday will be dry, mostly sunny, with the high approaching 60 again. Sunday will be about 53, but back to a 20 percent chance for showers.
Rain chances increase to 50 percent Sunday night and then drop back down to 30 percent Monday, which will be about 49 degrees, the weather service said.
