Join DFW.com to watch the Oscars

Are you ready to do your best Julia Child impression? Or to get in touch with your inner- Avatar?

You can indulge those Oscar fantasies and more at dfw.com's second annual Oscar Watching Party at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth. Along with our buddies and co-hosts from the Lone Star Film Society, we'll roll out the red carpet March 7 at the Modern, where you'll be able to eat, drink, win fabulous prizes and watch the Academy Awards telecast on the big screen in the museum's auditorium.

Doors open at 6 p.m., and DFW.com will be on the red carpet, snapping photos of the arrivals and interviewing the famous and nonfamous alike. The Oscar telecast preshow kicks off at 7 p.m., and the ceremony begins at 7:30 p.m. We'll be giving away prizes all night and during each commercial break.

This year, we're especially excited to be offering a special grand prize to the best Oscar-inspired costume of the year. Do you own a platinum blond wig, high heels and a football? A bomb-defusing suit? Heck, if you want to get drunk, gain 40 pounds and don a cowboy hat, you might just win over the judges' crazy hearts.

Attendance is free, and no tickets are necessary, although if you want to reserve a spot in the auditorium you can e-mail Tina Gorski, tgorski@themodern.org.
