Here’s what’s new in bookstores this week:
▪ The Magic Strings of Frankie Presto, by Mitch Albom (Harper, $25.99) — The bestselling author (Tuesdays With Morrie), a musician himself, creates Frankie Presto, the world’s greatest guitarist with a gift for changing lives. Albom will discuss his book at 7 p.m. Nov. 30 at the Aaron Family Jewish Community Center, 7900 Northaven Road, Dallas; www.jccdallas.org/bookfest. Tickets are $25, $35 day of, plus a signed book.
▪ The Guilty, by David Baldacci (Grand Central Publishing, $28) — The bestselling author (2014’s The Target) offers the fourth thriller in his Will Robie series, featuring the government’s “most professional, disciplined and lethal assassin.” Until now. Will has lost his mojo and, while he’s on a mandatory break, he returns to the hometown he left 20 years ago to help his estranged father, who’s been arrested for murder.
▪ The Pharaoh’s Secret, by Clive Cussler and Graham Brown (G.P. Putnam’s Sons, $28.95) — The bestselling co-authors present the 13th book in their NUMA Files series. Kurt Austin, sidekick Joe Zavala and the rest of the team are tasked with stopping a mad man from resurrecting the Egyptian empire. And he’s got help from Osiris, ruler of the underworld. Cussler regular Scott Brick narrates the audiobook (Penguin Audio, $45).

Bestselling author James Dashner (“The Maze Runner” series) will discuss and sign his new book, The Game of Lives, the conclusion to “The Mortality Doctrine” series, at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Dallas Half Price Books.
