Author Traci Borum is a native Texan who’s an Anglophile deep in her heart. She lives in Tyler, where she’s a full-time teacher of writing, literature and creative writing at Tyler Junior College. She even has Fort Worth roots — her parents and three grandparents live here.
But England has always called to her — she owns a Corgi, after all. And her romantic Chilton Crosse series is set in a charming Cotswolds village across the pond. Her debut novel, Painting the Moon, was published last June and features an expat from San Diego who inherits an art gallery from her aunt.
Borum revisits Chilton Crosse for her latest novel, Finding the Rainbow, that catches up with some old characters while introducing new villagers wrapped up in the filming of a Jane Austen movie nearby. Holly Newbury, 28, has dedicated her life to being caretaker for her three younger sisters. Then, she meets Fletcher Hays, a dashing Texan who’s the screenwriter for Emma. A friendship is born — and more?
Look for book three in the series this fall when Christmas and a stranger come to Chilton Crosse.
“It’s been a really great year, especially after having struggled for a long time with rejections before I got published,” she says in an email. “I’m just trying to savor all this as much as I can.”
