Richard Rawlings, the Fort Worth native behind the popular Fast N’ Loud TV show, Dallas’ Gas Monkey Garage auto shop, and that city’s Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill restaurant chain as well as the Gas Monkey Live concert venue, is expanding his reach to central Texas. According to a release on Friday, he plans to launch Richard Rawlings’ Garage, an eatery specializing in burgers, sandwiches, brisket and beer in Harker Heights which is close to Fort Hood. The opening date should be sometime this summer.

“Harker Heights is in the heart of Texas, right next to Fort Hood, which is the largest active-duty armored post in the United States Armed Services,” Rawlings said in the release. “I am excited and looking forward to serving good food to good people, and I can’t think of anywhere else I would rather have the first location of Richard Rawlings’ Garage be.”

The restaurant, located at 401 W. Central Texas Expressway, will also sell specialty merchandise.

Another Richard Rawlings’ Garage is set to open in the fall at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Connecticut. Additional restaurants are planned. Also, he recently has opened a Gas Monkey Bar N’ Grill in Key West, FL.

Gas Monkey Garage in Dallas is located at 10261 Technology Blvd. E. and right nearby is the concert venue Gas Monkey Live at 10110 Technology Blvd. E.

A Fast N Loud marathon begins airing on Discovery Tuesday at 1 p.m.
