Jumping from a windy city to the Windy City is KTVT/Channel 11 chief meteorlogist Larry Mowry, Feder reports: “No one is supposed to know it yet, but WLS-Channel 7 is about to add ... Larry Mowry, chief meteorologist at CBS-owned KTVT in Dallas. [He’s expected to join the ABC-owned station [in Chicago] next month.”
Neither WLS or CBS 11 had cofirmed this with Bark, and DFW.com has emails out seeking comment (update: CBS 11 has declined to comment). But Feder is one of the longest-running, most-respected local-media reporters in the country. A misfire isn’t impossible, but is unlikely.

Mowry particpated in DFW.com’s “The Rainmakers” package about DFW meteorologists in 2014. He said he’d been interested in weather since he was a child, watching storms with his parents as the weather rolled into their small hometown in a valley in Ohio. He’s now been with CBS 11 for eight years.
We were surprised how few of the meteorologists had a favorite weather song, but Mowry had one: Windy by The Association. “My dad is incredibly knowledgeable about music,” Mowry said at the time. “He has every No. 1 from 1955 to 1988 on 45. I asked him to give me songs with weather in the lyrics that did real well. He sent me this list of I think it was 45 songs that were either No. 1 or Top 10. My favorite one is Windy, by the Association.”
Maybe there’s a karmic connection to the Windy City: Feder reports that Mowry worked weekeends at WLS in 2004 and free-lanced at CLTV in 2003.
