Spanish-language radio station KMVK/107.5 FM “La Grande 107.5 FM” has announced that Eddie “Piolin” Sotelo, one of the most familiar names in Spanish-language radio, will fill the station’s midday slot with his El Show de Piolin. The show begins Monday on La Grande.
The show, which is a nationally syndicated morning program from Los Angeles-based Alliance Radio Network, will be localized for the DFW market and will air from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on La Grande. The show “will feature family-friendly humor with cross-cultural appeal and interviews with actors, musicians, athletes and other celebrities,” per a release.
"I couldn't be more excited to be back in one of my favorite cities in the country," Sotelo says in the release "They say that everything is bigger in Texas, and our show will be no different!”
Sotelo’s Piolin por la Mañana show aired in DFW on KLNO/94.1 FM, but was abruptly canceled by Univsion in 2013. Coincidentally, Sotelo’s brother, Edgar “Shoboy” Sotelo, is the former morning-show host at KMVK. Shoboy now does an English-language show from 8 to 11 p.m. weeknights on KVIL/103.7 FM
