Old-school hip-hop act 2 Live Crew coming to Fort Worth

The new movie comedy Dope, which opened Friday across DFW, centers on three contemporary L.A. teenagers who are obsessed with ‘80s and ‘90s hip-hop. Well, if they were in Fort Worth this weekend, they could indulge their passion by going to see 2 Live Crew -- of Me So Horny fame -- Saturday night.

The group -- or, more accurately, two of the original members, Brother Marquis and Fresh Kid Ice, without frontman Luther Campbell -- will be performing at Corner Bar, a new club at 2308 Mall Circle Drive, in the old Spencer’s Corner space at Ridgmar Mall. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door. Opening will be DJ Baby Chino. Doors at 7 p.m.

Corner Bar will be open Wednesday through Sunday nights with each night having a different theme. Wednesday is Ladies Night, Thursday is country, Friday and Saturday are Top 40, and Sunday is Latin.
