If you’re itching to see something closer to the 4K/3D/120 frames-per-second version of Ang Lee’s film Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, opening Friday in North Texas, you don’t have to fly to either Los Angeles or New York after all.
Originally, that special, high-tech edition of the movie was only scheduled to play the coasts. But now Sony has decided otherwise. The AMC Village on the Parkway in Addison will be showing a 120fps/Dolby Vision/3D version of this movie, according to a Sony representative, though it’s still apparently not the same version that screened at the New York Film Festival.
The film, set in North Texas in the early 2000s, focuses on an Iraq War soldier who returns to Texas to take part in a halftime celebration at the old Texas Stadium. It stars Joe Alwyn, Kristen Stewart and Vin Diesel.
