In September, the Star-Telegram’s Bryan Bastible wrote about Yevette Vasquez, a single mom from Fort Worth who took unusual measures to make sure that her son didn’t feel left out at school.
While dropping her 12-year-old son, Elijah De Leon, off at school, Vasquez noticed more cars than usual.
“Her son told her it was because of a ‘Donuts with Dad’ event,” Bastible wrote. “Not wanting her to son to miss out, the single mom returned to the school with a mustache, a button-up shirt and a Rangers ballcap.”
Vasquez posted about it on Facebook. Her story went viral. As of this writing, it’s been shared nearly 6,700 times.
