University of North Texas in Denton is showing a free screening of Before the Flood, the environmental documentary hosted and co-produced by Leonardo DiCaprio, at 7 p.m. Saturday.
The film, looking at the impact of climate change, features appearances from Elon Musk, Pope Francis, Bill Clinton, John Kerry, and President Obama as well as DiCaprio who travels to five continents speaking to scientists and activists. The soundtrack is provided by music from Trent Reznor, Gustavo Santaolalla, Atticus Ross, and Mogwai.
The screening takes place in the RTFP Building, 1179 Union Circle, Room 184.
The film, opening theatrically in New York and Los Angeles on Friday, will also be having its global TV premiere at 8 p.m. Sunday on National Geographic Channels in 171 countries. From there, it will be available for free streaming for seven days beginning Oct. 30 through Natgeotv.com, iTunes, Hulu, VOD/video-on-demand, MVPD sites and apps, Nat Geo TV apps, Facebook, YouTube, Amazon, Twitter, Sony PlayStation, and GooglePlay among others.
