I am so thankful that I have so many amazing friends – especially at my age. I talked to at least one of them daily to help me vent, help me understand something better and now, to compare our kid scenario of the day. Many of them have been with me for many years – well before jobs, bills and mortgages were part of my vocabulary. They have experienced so much of my life with me and I truly don’t know what I would do without them. I guess I should be glad they have stayed around so long through thick and thin (and many cartons of ice cream and champagne!) But I think that’s the only two things that one of my friends and I have in common.

One of my oldest friends and I are EXACT opposites and always have been. Our taste in clothes (and boys most the time), food, and music are completely different, which is why it still amazes me what draws us together (even after a brief stint as roommates.) Several years ago we went without talking to one another for years, but then we picked back up without a hitch. She’s been through most every milestone with me though and when I think about the almost 20 years we have been friends, I just giggle at all the silly things we have done and how when things were down, she was always there to celebrate, rehabilitate and sometimes just to get through it and quickly. I only wish that everyone has such a relationship that I am lucky to have like this one.
So Jennifer Erin, I want to tell you HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BEAUTIFUL! You deserve to have the best day ever as we embark on another decade of friendship. It is time for a new chapter and I am excited that I get to share it with you. Thank you for giving so much of yourself to me over the years and I hope that I have been able to give you at least half of what you have been so gracious to give to me all this time.
