Fans invited to participate in TMS media day

Race fans will have a chance to ask questions during Texas Motor Speedway's annual Media Day as the speedway unveils its new Web site with a live Web cast of the event.

The 90-minute segment begins at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday and will feature Tony Stewart, Ryan Newman and Colin Braun of NASCAR and Danica Patrick, Scott Dixon and Dario Franchitti of the IndyCar Series.

Fans can submit their questions by posting them within the site's new discussion forum. TMS will select which ones are asked during the Web cast.

Fans who sign up and add their physical address to their personal profile will get a $10 credit for their next TMS race ticket purchase. Fans can begin signing up for the Web site today.

TMS said the Web site will be enhanced with several social networking tools. Among the highlights:

  • Fans can create personalized profiles, including a photo, favorite driver, bio information and contact details.
  • Blogs, forums and communities. Fans will have the ability to post their comments on any stories or articles posted on the Web site.

  • Top post contributors will be profiled on the Web front daily and will be awarded status medals.
  • ¡Video and podcasts featuring many of the stars of NASCAR and the IndyCar Series, including media events.
  • Live Web cam to allow fans to see what different events are going on at the speedway during non-race weeks.
  • Series standings for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Truck Series and IndyCar Series.
