FORT WORTH -- A Keller man died early Friday when the pickup he was driving wrecked on Northeast Loop 820 near its intersection with Interstate 35W, police said.
Heath Conrad, 33, was identified by the Tarrant County medical examiner's office.
The wreck happened at 6:20 a.m. as a pewter Chevrolet pickup and a Toyota sedan were westbound on the loop, said Sgt. Rodney Bangs, supervisor of the traffic investigation unit.
"According to the driver of the Toyota, the Chevrolet pickup came from behind him traveling at a very high speed and struck the rear of the Toyota," Bangs said. "This caused the pickup to lose control."

The truck slid into the grassy median and then vaulted over a barrier, Bangs said.
It landed in the eastbound lanes of Loop 820, Bangs added, but it did not strike any other vehicles.
Conrad died at the scene, but no one else was hurt, Bangs said.
Loop 820 was closed until the wreckage was cleared around 9 a.m. Before then, traffic was snarled for two miles back to the loop's intersection with Main Street, according to Traffic.com.
