An early morning fire destroyed a restaurant in an Irving strip mall, an Irving spokesman said Thursday.
The 6 a.m. fire at the Chicken and Rice restaurant in the 3600 block of North Belt Line Road was nearly extinguished at 8:30 a.m. The restaurant was closed at the time of the fire.
Adjacent businesses were slightly damaged by smoke, fire officials said.
The cause of the three alarm fire is still under investigation, the fire spokesman said.
