DALLAS — A suspected bank robber was fatally shot Tuesday inside a bank after exchanging gunfire with a security guard, police said.
The suspect entered a branch of Chase Bank in south Dallas Tuesday afternoon. He shot at the security guard, who suffered a "superficial wound," Dallas Police Chief David Kunkle said.
The security guard fired back. It was unclear if the guard hit the suspect or if the suspect later shot himself, Kunkle said.
"We're continuing to interview witnesses, employees and the security guard," Kunkle said.

At least seven other people were inside the bank at the time. They were not harmed.
FBI agents and police tactical units responded to the call. A SWAT unit entered the bank and "got the hostages out," Kunkle said. Officers also found the suspect's body.
